Maryland, MD
Maryland is the 42nd largest state in the United States and one of the most densely populated. Maryland is one of the Thirteen Colonies and was originally founded as a refuge for persecuted Catholics; it is credited as the birthplace of religious freedom in America.
Agriculture, sea-trade, aerospace, defense, and administrative services all make up large sections of Maryland’s economy. Popular tourist attractions in Maryland include Baltimore and many historic sites from colonial days. Hunting also provides a popular sub-sector of tourism.
Most of Maryland’s population is centered around Chesapeake Bay and the state line with Virginia; primarily around Baltimore and Washington D.C.
